Staying Connected, After the Transport

It is our core belief and value to treat patients and their family with dignity and respect. This may be a crew’s 1000th transport but likely this is your first, and while relying on an ambulance to transport you or your family member is not a common event in your life, at Coastal we want it to be an experience that is one of professionalism and compassion, a feeling that continues from your transport and over to our Billing Office.

An ambulance transport is something most people do not plan for and can certainly cause a host of confusing issues, especially when it comes to interpreting health insurance and the arrival of an ambulance bill. It is our goal in the Billing Office to communicate clearly and honestly with each patient and whenever possible to have their bill paid by Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance or appropriate sources of payment. Our staff is trained to gather as much data as possible, offer options, and suggest alternatives to patients that do not have a source of reimbursement.

When there is no third party payer resulting in the patient becoming responsible for part or all of the bill, we will be as accommodating as possible.

Coastal has successfully billed for our transportation services since the start of our business in 1988. Each year our staff attends numerous conferences, seminars and webinars to stay abreast of healthcare billing issues in order to provide you the most comprehensive and effective billing experience.
