Coastal’s Communication Center is staffed 24 hours a day with dispatchers who are professional, caring and multi-task oriented.
They are responsible for making sure all requests for service are handled in a prompt and courteous manner. The dispatchers handle and maintain all internal and external communication between Coastal and those agencies requesting ambulance transportation. They are responsible for accepting, coordinating, and screening all requests for service.
All transport requests come to the Communications Center by phone or facsimile; the majority arrive by facsimile. When the dispatchers receive a request for service an immediate call back to the requesting facility is made to finalize all arrangements. The request is then entered into our dispatching software program, to be dispatched to the closest, most appropriate ambulance crew. The dispatchers remain in radio contact with the crew from start to finish on each transport.
Our Administrative offices, Operations team, Fleet Maintenance and Communications Center are all housed in one location allowing for ease of coordination. Coastal plays a vital role in all pre and post disaster plans, as such that part of the building is located in a hardened area and is outfitted to run by generator power. We have our own onsite fueling system to maintain both building operations and vehicle operations during power outages ensuring the availability of fuel and electricity necessary for sustained operations in a disaster.
The Communications Center connects us with our customers; it is where we make our first impression. Allow us an opportunity to impress you.
COASTAL MAKES CONNECTIONS FOR LIFE.
